How is TLRI different from other education non-profit organizations?

TLRI is dedicated to combining several of the proven key elements for educational reform. Technology, multi-disciplinary literacy, Teaming, and simulation are all combined in a powerful Learning System. We design programs to be able to stand on their own in the education marketplace. Often, our programs support themselves for the hosting institution, and provide an measurable intellectual, behavioral, and resource "return on investment" for program participants.

Who can use your SPACE EXPLORERS Shuttle Team Program?

SPACE EXPLORERS was designed to be used by schools, museums, camps, and planetariums. The program combines the excitement of flying a high-fidelity space shuttle cockpit in combination with an integrated Mission Control Center. The resulting learnings are not only in the obvious areas of technological literacy, participant self confidence, communications, and problem solving, but in the development of Teaming skills that are key to workplace success.

How is Teaming different from "collaborative learning"?

The collaborative learning efforts in schools, and the development of the "team-based" workplace are the very underpinnings that will permit the Teaming approach to effect change in education. The difference between Teaming and collaborative learning is in the implementation. Common errors are made in both schools and workplaces when trying to develop teams. Teaming is an approach that helps organizations overcome these errors and create truly effective process teams. The value of teams in learning and in the workplace is proven, but getting the human side of the equation to function successfully is still an art. Teaming bridges the skills gap and provides a revolutionary approach to modifying the learning environment.
